This session is designed to introduce the students to some real world experience outside the school as well as prepare them to take the CF ( Certified Farrier ) exam through the AFA. Students will build a presentable shoe display*** and perfect the application of the required shoe modifications.

If you are signed up in this course you will recieve your text at NO COST and 1 FREE attempt at the American Farrier Association Certified Farrier Exam held at MHS.

Students are responsible for all assignments and homework.
All tools will be furnished for students.

Included when attending the Sixteen Week Session is the textbook, Gregory’s Textbook of Farriery.


               Total number of hours in course: 600 hours.

Hours in session: Monday through Friday
 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The school shop is opened after regular school hours to allow students to perfect their skills.

Upon successful completion of the
Sixteen Week Session students will receive a diploma and one free attempt at the AFA Certified Farrier exam held at MHS.

Start Dates for the Sixteen Week Session are as follows:

* August 6, 2012 to November 30, 2012 (Class Break 10/29 - 11/2)
* January 7, 2013 to May 3, 2013 (Class Break 4/1 to 4/5/2013)
* August 5, 2013 to November 27, 2013 (Class Break 10/28 to 11/1/2013)

The cost of tuition for the Sixteen Week Session is:
$7000.00 for the Sixteen Week Session in 2012.
 $7300.00 for the Sixteen Week Session in 2013.

The price of the text book is included.

Housing is offered in the school dorm at:
 $800.00 for the Sixteen Week Session in 2012
 $850.00 for the Sixteen Week Session in 2013

Deposits required:
 $200.00 for tuition
$100.00 for housing

Although tools are supplied for the students while in attendance, new tools and supplies needed be purchased through Midwest Horseshoeing School at any point during the session or before leaving the school at a discounted price.

*** Upon completion of the 1st twelve weeks of this session, students will ***** be required to purchase 1 box each of front and hind Keg Shoes in order to build a shoe display.
