RANDY LUIKART- Ashland, Ohio (1967 graduate) Randy shoes gaited horses in several states for some of the top saddle-bred barns in the country. Among his credits are American Farrier Association Champion; American Farrier Association Five-time Forging Champion; Calgary (Canada) Stampede Champion; Five-time member of U.S. Team for International Competition; Placed fifth in individual International Competition in Scotland; Placed sixth in International Competition in Ireland; Champion in numerous state competitions. "Through my travels and after visiting other schools, I feel Midwest Horseshoeing School is one of the best facilities available. I was very pleased with the program and the cooperation of the instructor." ED EHRHARDT - Des Plaines, Illinois (1973 graduate) Ed is shoeing draft horses as well as gaited and quarter horses, specializing in pathological and corrective shoeing in the Chicago area. "Midwest is the best school available for forge work, the foundation for my type of shoeing." RICK MEDD - Clinton, Iowa (1975 graduate) Rick is shoeing saddle horses, fine harness ponies, and Arabs in several states. "Midwest gives you plenty of forge work and that is the most important part." MAURICE "KIP" HUNTZINGER - Lexington, Kentucky (1979 graduate) Kip is shoeing standardbreds and thoroughbreds. He is a regular at Ben White Raceway, the Red Mile, Castleton Farms, and Lexington Track. "Shoeing off the track, I couldn't believe so many people had never seen a shoer work a forge fire. When I started working in my forge, I drew a crowd. I thought the Midwest Horseshoeing School was excellent because they taught me what I needed to know and gave me plenty of practice in forge work." DAN HAUSSMAN - Orland Park, Illinois Dan shoes some of the top hunter jumpers in the Midwest. He is a two-time member of the U.S. Team for International Competition. For three years he has ranked in the top 10 in the Calgary (Canada) Stampede; he is Champion in many state competitions; and is in such demand that he requires a four-man crew. |
