Midwest Horseshoeing School

BEGINNING TWO WEEK SESSION

This session is recommended for those students interested in trimming and shoeing their own horses with factory made shoes. This session includes learning beginning anatomy, conformational defects, faulty gaits, and proper shoeing techniques. The instructors will also teach basic forging, trimming, shaping, nailing and proper horse handling.

Students are responsible for the assigned text readings on the horses foot. All tools and text are furnished for the students.
Total number of hours in course: 70 hrs.

Session Summary

· Hours in session: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

· Upon successful completion of the Two Week Session students will receive a certificate.

Lecture -Anatomy & Proper Shoeing

Horsemanship

1 hr.

Basic Hoof Trimming

30 hrs.

Forging

4 hrs.

Shoe Shaping & Nailing

26 hrs.

Written Exams
